Hard Facts About Added Sugar

By: Dr. Elizabeth Dunkleberger DDS

A diet high in added sugar equals

added health risks, including tooth

decay, diabetes, and weight gain. Did

you know that sugar hides in 74% of

processed foods? If not, you may be

eating more than you bargained for.

The average North American eats

about 20 teaspoons of added sugar daily

– almost triple the recommended dietary

amount – with disastrous results for

overall health.

If you do yourself one favor, cut back

on added sugar. Your teeth, waistline,

and general well-being will thank you!
